Soccer lessons in Italian for children are back!

The “Scuola Italiana del Sabato PIB” (PIB Italian Saturday School), in collaboration with “Boston Super Soccer Stars”, is organizing soccer lessons for children, in Italian, in October 2016.

Who: children 3-8 year-old who can speak Italian (at least 10 children of similar age are needed to form a class)

By whom: Boston Super Soccer Stars experienced soccer trainers and Italian volunteers

Language: Italian

When: every Saturday in October (Oct 1 – Oct 29), 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Where: Cambridge, MA; 10 minutes walking from the “Central” stop of the T red line (address will be provided upon registration)

How to attend: fill in the required information in the registration form in this page; we will contact you if we receive at least 10 requests for children of similar ages

Dear Friends,

On October 9, in celebration of Italian-American Heritage Month in the U.S., the critically acclaimed Italian comedy-drama film Briciole Sul Mare will make its North American debut in Faneuil Hall in Boston.

Briciole Sul Mare (subtitled in English) tells the story of a fisherman living in the south of Italy whose regular fishing trip takes an unexpected turn when he falls asleep. During his slumber, he drifts south to the waters of beautiful, sunny Sicily. There, he meets many new people, including Salvo, a young man who finds himself in a whirlwind of romance, family drama and legal trouble.

Following the premiere screening of Briciole Sul Mare, The Platters will perform some of their classic hits (Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Only You, GreatPretender, My Prayer, etc.). In addition to performances by The Platters, Italian recording artist and Briciole Sul Mare actor Walter Nestola with Paola Gruppuso (from Italy’s RAI-TV’s The Voice) will perform their songs from the official motion picture soundtrack,

• Dante Alighieri VIP Tickets: $150.00 — Includes meet and greet and photo with all artists, a special reception catered by rising Italian-Americanculinary TV personality Mike Fucci and premium seating.
• Michelangelo Reserved Seating Tickets: $75.00 — Includes reserved seating and after-concert reception catered by Dana Gallo Strayton of the PrinceStreet Cafe and Bakery in Bedford, Massachusetts, as featured on Buddy Valastro’s Bakery Rescue series on the TLC Television Network.
• Maria Montessori Special Student/Senior Tickets: $25.00 — Includes same benefits as the Michelangelo Reserved Seating Tickets, but at a specialprice. (Student ID/Photo ID Required)

Proceeds will benefit, in part, Attività Scolastiche Italiane (C.A.S.IT., Inc.) — a non-profit educational and professional organization, for the promotion ofItalian language and culture in public and private schools throughout New England. They also will benefit the Bambin Gesu’ Hospital in Rome and Gaslini Hospital in Genoa — both medical facilities are dedicated to the care of critically ill children.
